Alex Finnie, Winemaker

Alex began his career in the wine industry in 2011 as a cellar hand for Cassegrain Wines in Port Macquarie.

After his first vintage, enrolled to Study a Bachelor of Wine Science through Charles Sturt University. Through working experience and his study, Alex progressed to position of Assistant Wine Maker.

Alex and his family made the move to the Upper Hunter in June 2015 where he joined the winemaking team at James Estate Wines. Prior to Vintage ’16, Alex secured the role of Head Winemaker and onsite manager at Baerami.

Daniel Maslen, Vineyard Manager

Daniel Began his career in the wine industry in 2001 as a trainee Viticulturist at Primrose Vineyard in Sandy Hollow – he worked there for 9 Years progressing to the position of Vineyard Manager. Daniel then went on perusing other roles within the agriculture industry and in 2014 Daniel returned to the Wine industry to pursue his passion for growing fine wines. In 2015 Daniel joined the team at James Estate as Vineyard Manager.

Carolyn Healey, Operations Manager

Carolyn has worked in the retail and hospitality industry for over 20 years including  wine industry experience within James Estate.

Carolyn rejoined the team in 2015  as the Baerami Cellar Door Manager and the Office Manager for the Operation.

Carolyn has a strong passion for the entire property managing the winery operations including Baerami and Denman Cellar Doors – she has big plans for the James Estate Wines future.

Greg West, Pokolbin Venue Manager

Greg has been involved in the wine industry for 40 years, with 25 years based in the beautiful Hunter Valley managing Cellar Doors and restaurants, large scale events and representing the Hunter Wine Industry on the NSW Wine Industry Association..

As a descendant of George Wyndham, one of the founders of the Hunter Valley in the early 1800’s, Greg is passionate about the Hunter Valley and its wines.

Greg is pleased to be a part of the growth of James Estate and is looking forward to welcoming you to the Cellar Door on Hermitage Road in Pokolbin.

Fiona Jordon, Club Member Manager

 

SALES TEAM

Jason Lucas, NSW Sales Manager

Originally from the United Kingdom, Jason worked with an extensive number of fine dining restaurants and bars before immigrating to Australia in 2008. After experiencing great growth and development within the hospitality sector he chose to take on a new challenge in sales management, joining Delegat Australia, in 2012.

His twin passions of wine and hospitality, as well as his creative approach to brand and product development, have driven his career in the FMCG sector.

As our New South Wales Sales Manager, Jason is focused on developing James Estate Wines within the market as well as group sales opportunities.

He is currently undertaking his Masters of Business Administration and has completed his WSET training.

Daniel Secanski, Sales Executive North Sydney

Starting his wine career in 2003 with Cellarmasters Wine, Daniel developed his knowledge progressing to a field sales role with Treasury Wine Estates.

Years of business development and account management contributed to his ongoing success, further educating himself to Wset level.

Currently our Sales Executive for the Sydney North Territory, Daniel’s experience and customer service excellence ensure James Estate Wines enjoy continuing success.
